Planning your Fund Raising Event

We encourage groups and individuals to organise fund raising events. Here is how to go about it:

1     Please look at the events which have already been booked and choose a date which does not clash with another fund raising event. It is better to spread these out over the next two years to maximise interest and people's generosity. Planning ahead is also advised as the halls get booked for other events well ahead. You can also see what other regular events are going on in the parish by looking at the events calendar on the website.

fundraisingevents@sacredheartwimbledon.org.uk
who will advise you of any other similar events which are being planned. Alison will check the availability of venues for your event and make a provisional booking.

3     You will then have to confirm the booking as soon as possible with Thelma D'Costa
thelma@sacredheartwimbledon.org.uk in the parish office. You will also need to check out what facilities such as tables, crockery and sound systems you may need to use and  let Thelma D'Costa or George McLennan, george@sacredheartwimbledon.org.uk know well in advance.

4     Use the weekly newsletter, Edgeways and emails to advertise your event. Contact Chris Woodward at website@sacredheartwimbledon.org.uk if you wish to send out a parish-wide email.

5     Ensure you maximise the use of gift-aid by having a supply of the special appeal envelopes; these are available in the parish office. There are rules about what qualifies for Gift Aid, please read them carefully, click here.

6     keep a record of expenses and income and contact Natalya Hamilton, Accounts Assistant, (natalya@sacredheartwimbledon.org.uk) to arrange paying in the proceeds.
