Welfare

Many parishioners carry out regular acts of informal support and welfare to housebound neighbours and needy persons. There are also a number of formally organised groups in the parish where the members have been checked through the DBS system.

The parish has a long history is supporting the homeless through the Soup Run to Westminster. However one of the positive outcomes of lockdown is that rough sleeping has almost disappeared and the soup run is no longer viable.

The parish was also very much involved in setting up a day centre for the homeless in Merton and a number of  parishioners help to run it on a week by week basis. We also collect clothes for homeless men for the Manna Society, https://www.mannasociety.org.uk/. These can be left in the wheely bins in the entrance lobby to the lower hall and lounge. Please do not leave other items as they will not be collected and obstruct the entrance.
